Anne Ursu was voted "Best Customer Service" by her bookstore peers in 1996. She took a break from retail the following year to write on theater for the City Pages in Minneapolis and the Portland Phoenix in Maine. Her account of The Clarence Spill was published by Hyperion Books -- names changed to protect the innocent. When she's not working on her next novel, she reviews local theater for the Clarence Chronicle and uses her customer service skills to great effect at the Davis & Dean Information Desk. Sometimes she shelves calendars, too.

JIMMY -- ALMOST COMPLETELY INACCURATE!
Next time, please do some research.

Jonathan Van Gieson moved out of Clarence when he was fired from Davis & Dean Bookstore after he refused to stop asking customers if they'd "like fries with that." He is now a partner in the web hosting, development, design and programming giant Fictional Company, and, for 4Panel Productions, producer of such theatrical undertakings as Tiny Ninja Theater and TheaterSounds Hudson Valley Playreading Series, and a co-author of Book of Ages. His first play, Wilk & Gayle: a nasty little play, is being considered for production by The Clarencian Thespians! -- Clarence's own amateur theatrical company.

Brian Warshawsky grew up in Minneapolis, just two hours away from Clarence. After studying engineering at Brown and MIT, he put his degree through the shredder and moved to Silicon Valley where he worked on web sites for several now-extinct dot coms. He also enjoys photography and long walks on the beach. He moved to Clarence in search of the quiet life and lower housing costs. He currently shelves in Self-Improvement at D&D.
John Eric Broich, or JEB to his chums, was raised in Owatonna, Minnesota. He played tight end for the Owatonna High Snow Monkeys, and scored the winning touchdown in the infamous Class A final in 1992, when the Monkeys defeated the Clarence Cougars in the waning moments of the fourth quarter. After graduating from Saint Olaf College in Minnesota's other factory/college town, he went to Stanford University to pursue a Ph.D. in history. He works at D&D Clarence over the summers, where he is happy to relive his football glory days to anyone who will listen. Once he gets his degree, he hopes to be promoted to supervisor of the history section, as the current supervisor only has an M.A.

George Washington was the first President of America. When he was President, he cut down a cherry tree and freed the slaves from Brittany. A famous thing about George Washington is he had wooden teeth. Some people think he made his teeth from the cherry tree. He was elected while he was still in the electoral college, which back then was not like the colleges of today, and he wrote the constitution. When he died everyone was real sad because he was the first President.
